Reliability starts before the file
An ECU calibration cannot compensate for worn mechanical parts or neglected maintenance. Injectors, ignition components, the cooling system, turbocharger, clutch and gearbox must already work correctly. A standard vehicle can hide a developing fault that becomes easier to notice when more torque is requested.
Before any Swaptune intervention, the partner checks the vehicle, reads existing faults and confirms that its mechanical configuration matches the request. If something is uncertain, diagnosis takes priority over tuning.
More performance means more demand
Additional torque and power increase the load carried by several components. That does not automatically make the project unreasonable, but it means the target must respect the engine, transmission, temperatures, fuel and intended use.

Choosing the appropriate level
A Stage 1 is generally designed around the original mechanical configuration. A Stage 2 or a more advanced project introduces additional variables and requires the corresponding hardware to be precisely documented. The more a vehicle differs from standard, the more important measurement and specialist development become.

Does tuning reduce engine life?
There is no universal figure. An unsuitable target, an unhealthy vehicle or poor use can increase wear. A sensible calibration on a properly maintained vehicle manages that risk but cannot eliminate normal mechanical ageing.
Is a diagnostic scan enough?
No. It is an important first check, but visual inspection, maintenance history, road behaviour and relevant measurements may also be necessary.
